Windsor = shopping and drinking

So Tuesday I had to be in Fort Wayne for treaty training. Since there's no direct flight to fort wayne international from Toronto (where's the international part then?), it made for a long trip, and it meant it ruined my long weekend. To make up for it I took the train to Windsor on Friday and got to visit Angela!!!

We had a great weekend. When I got there we went for supper with a couple of her friends and the food was yummy. Saturday we went to Detroit for some shopping!!! I *heart* cheap shoes! And they're sooo pretty. I bought 3 at Ang's fav outlet store. Then we went to Target!! I've never been so it was so exciting. I bought another pair of shoes as well as spongebob square pants KD =) They had a bunch of nascar stuff too! Yay states for being obsessed.

After that we went to..... wait for it.... the olive garden!!! omg i was so excited. I keep seeing commercials and drooling. I decided to go for the pasta that i kept seeing on commercials and damn it was GOOD! After that we went to a mall closeby and did a bit more shopping.

We were pretty tired by the time we got home but they didn't stop us from having one or two (okay four) pina coladas! Mmmmm soooo good! Then it was off to the loop for gooood times. Got to meet some of Ang's friends and dance the night away.

Sunday was mostly napping, a bit of shopping, olive garden leftovers and tv! It was an awesome weekend. Need to visit again.

I leave for Toronto tomorrow afternoon and when I get home I'll post about the highs and lows of my trip to Indiana.

Old Folks Convention at the Rogers Centre

Today I took a vacation day cause I realized not going into work sometimes is very nice.  It was a beautiful day out.   Very sunny and warm.  I went to the mall to do my Christmas shopping.  I went in the morning so it wasn't busy which made things less annoying.  I had lots of great luck and found some great stuff.  I haven't had a lot of luck shopping lately so it was a great change.  I couldn't believe it only took 2 hours including walking time!

When I got back from shopping I watched a bunch of episodes of an amusing new tv show.  Then I did a bit more shopping and had some supper.  Great day... great day indeed!

Baby Toronto

I went to Calgary on June 6th to visit my brother for a week. The plane ride was so fun. I haven't been on a plane for about 8 years so I didn't remember it well. It was a mostly clear day so I was able to see land for most of the trip. I loved being so high. I want to fly more now. The plane ride home wasn't as exciting. Mostly cloudly but it was fun seeing different kinds of clouds.

Mike met me at his apartment when I got in. His place amused me. I figured because he has a well paying job, buys expensive shirts and suits, that he'd have this stylish little apartment downtown Calgary. Well, it's definetly downtown... He uses his dishwasher as a drying rack and leaves it open and pulled out, he has empty boxes scattered all over his apartment, his liquor bottles are on the end table in the living room, and has alot of magazine and telephone books all under his coffee table. Other than that though it's a nice little place. The elevators were so slow though!! My only complaint =)

The first thing I really noticed once I got to Calgary was that they have their traffic lights horizontal. I've never seen that before. I'm told they do that in Quebec too. I find it funny. Their transit system is fun too. Their subway system couldn't be underground because of the river that runs through town I believe, so they have street cars. Instead of street cars in Toronto where it loads like a bus, it loads like a subway. It's also the honour system like the GO which I find so crazy! Calagary's so cute though cause the suburbs are actually in Calgary. That's why I think of it as Baby Toronto =)

Mike showed me around a bit and he took me up to see his office which was hilarious. Piles of papers everywhere! All over his desk and floor. I can understand the need for lots of piles but I try to keep it more controlled than that hehe. His office was nice and big and the view was gorgeous. A very fun building.

So the day I arrive it's sunny and beautiful out. Then it gets cold and cloudy and it rained at times. When does the sun come out? The morning I leave!!! The weather wasn't nice to me, but it was still great. I wandered around while Mike was at work and we'd hang out when he got home. He made supper a few times and we went out a couple times as well.

I went to visit (Mom's boyfriend) George's daughter Bonnie and her family the one day. They're a great bunch. Bonnie and Dean are very nice and the kids are lots of fun. Mike played soccer with Spencer for a while which was funny and I drew with Spencer and Sydney for a bit. I also got to meet the neighbourhood cat Buddy. He wanders around visiting people when they are outside. It's awesome! The fun of a cat without the hassle of cat hair and littre box.

Some of the things I saw in Calgary were City Hall, Calgary Tower, Stephen's avenue, Chinatown, Eau Claire, Saddledome, a couple of malls. Speaking of which, I have to talk about the malls!!!!! I *heart* shopping. The first one I went to was Shinock. I'd compare it to Yorkdale but ALOT closer! It was sooo beautiful. Lots of great stores, newly renovated, it was great. The food court was unbelievable. It had a carasoul and had lots of big windows. The Mall downtown is above ground and has lots of levels. It even has a big garden by the food court. It was cool.

One last thing I loved about Calgary: the police officers wore cowboy hats!! Yeee-haw!

Yippee!

It's official! I've accepted an offer and I'm going to work at Swiss Re!! I'm so happy. I really loved working there on my co-op terms. I just got lucky they had an opening. *happiness*

Now I have to find a place in Toronto. Eep! I'm thinking I might see if I can stay at my dad's for a while to make apartment hunting alot easier, but his place is far and crowded so I'm not sure. I'll bring up the idea and see what he says.

I can't wait to go shopping!!! It's business attire there so I get to dress up. I love it. So much more fun that way. I can't wait to have an amazing, fun, stylish wardrobe. Ohh and the shoes! And one day a prada bag =)

To celebrate accepting an offer I bought Wicked tickets! Well, okay, I bought them a little earlier, but it was to celebrate having a full-time job =) I think they'll be pretty good seats. Row F, seats 17 and 18 (if anybody cares, i do!! hehe)

I haven't posted in sooo long... i've been bad. Done lots of great stuff. Wing nights have been lots of fun. I'm looking forward to them next summer!!

Wow, I didn't even update about my fun visit with Holly! We went on a used bookstore hunt and did some Christmas shopping. We went to Spring Rolls, Pickle Barrel and Allen's! We watched Crash and Coupling. Ohh so great. AND there was Prius at the end of Crash! But now I can't buy one. Too expensive and pointless for Toronto. We had alot of fun. Next time she comes to visit in Toronto I'll have a great stylish apartment which will be even better.

I went to visit Keizo the other weekend. We did some Christmas Shopping and relaxed. It was really nice just being able to spend some time with him. We've both been too busy this term. I'm looking forward to January!

So Wednesday Night I went to a Marlies game with Liz!!! It was great. Great seats, the place is pretty small so anywhere is pretty good. They won 5-0 which was cool! We picked who our favourite players were and stuff. We BOTH forgot cameras though! Bah!

Last night was our Chrismukkah party!! Matt and I went to Chris and Jeff's to watch OC IN HIGH DEF! So awesome. We also watched CSI afterwards which was so cool in HD as well. We had hawaiian pizza. I can't enough of it lately. Also had some drinks, but not too much cause Matt's Christmas Party was the night before which had an open bar... enough said haha. I took pictures of turkey (the bunny) while I was there. He's so cute!

I don't know what I'm forgetting. I really shouldn't go this long without posting. Tonight my dad is picking me up and I'm going to his place for the weekend. My brother is flying in tonight so it'll be great to see him. I've missed the arrogant bugger.

Long Weekend

Saturday morning my dad came to Waterloo and we moved my stuff to Toronto, then we headed to dad's. On the way, we stopped in Pickering. We like Pickering, it's home! I wanted to go to my favourite shoe store in the mall, Bata. So we went and what??!! Bata was gone! nooo! It was a sad day. We went to Suzy and my dad bought me a suit and a sweater. They are great. Then we had a "lunch". I had orange julius and dad had DQ hehe. Then we went home and my dad make steak and corn and asapargus. Sooo yummy. We watched Mean girls and played lots of games. It was fun. Sunday we went to the Oshawa centre and I found a pair of brown boots to go with my new suits. They are sooooo nice. I love them! They are really comfortable and look great with my suits. We also played some crib, and had yummy pasta and then watched Monster in Law later that night. It was a funny movie. I had fun with my dad. I was sad to leave.
