who knew?

On my Tony Stewart Daily Calendar today, I learned that the Nascar Nextel Cup Series has more women fans than any other sport. I found this surprising. I googled it and found an article that claims 40% of nascar fans are female.

Bears vs. Colts

The superbowl was pretty exciting to me.  My colts made it, as well as my brother's bears.  My brother has been a fan of the bears since he was a little kid.  He stuck by them even when they were playing horribly and was embarrassed by them.  That's a true fan.  Me, I just randomly decided to like the colts a few years ago.  Because of this, I decided I would cheer for the bears last Sunday.

Yeah... that didn't work out so well.  After the first kick off when the bears out maneuvered the colts and went all the way for a touchdown I was like "noooo!!!" then I realized wait, I want the bears to win, so I should be happy. It was too strange and conflicting and weird to not cheer for the colts.  I decided I would cheer for the colts but in the end i hoped bears would win.  Sucks they didn't, but on the other hand, wohooo!  They really deserved it last year and it sucked they got knocked out so quickly, so I'm very happy they won.  Maybe it'll be the bears turn next year.

I made chilli for the big game, and Matt came over and brought fresh bread from thuet.  Mmmmm bread.  Wilson came too and brought homemade dumplings!  Those were super yummy.  Rob watched too (while playing DS) and he contributed melon bread from j-town.  Overall, there was a silly rainy game of football in pretty HD, friends, and lots of great food.  I call this a superbowl success!!

Crybaby Tiger has some competition

Thursday was SR's staff association golf tourny. A couple people in my team were going so I decided it would be fun to go too. We went to Brampton, and the course is long and difficult! I was afraid it was going to be cold and cloudy, but the weather turned out to be perfect. A very enjoyable way to spend a late afternoon/evening.

It was best ball and we had alot of fun. I was going to use the golf simulator the night before to practice, but I was tired so I napped instead. Even so, I'm glad to say I didn't embarrass myself. They were impressed with how I did as a beginner. I made some nice shots, my ball was used a decent amount of the time, and I made one gorgeous put. Putting is the hardest I'd say. Not like mini golf at all ;) I must say, my dad is a great teacher! People say I have potential.

Afterwards there was a bbq and prizes! I like prizes. Our team won!! ... for having the highest score hehe. I did mention the course was difficult right???? At least we were able to get bogey's consistently =) But it meant I got a SR golf towel!! Now I just need a golf bag to put it on. I also got 3 "Big Bertha" golf balls with the SR logo on them. Very nice!!

On my walk home I decided it would be a good idea to drop by the matts first. Silly me I called first. We decided it's not necessary. I like this plan. It's so fun living close. More people should move into Cityplace. Yay Cityplace!!

The only bad thing about Cityplace is that they tore down the Spadina golf course. If they hadn't, Jeff and I could go play golf easily. Maybe other people will be interested too and we can all go somewhere like this golf course I really like which is east near my dad. Hopefully one day...

Wedding bells

This past weekend was Justin and Monica's wedding. The ceremony was really nice and they both looked amazing. Mon changed a couple times during the reception and each dress was gorgeous. The flower girl and the ring barer were so cute! When the ring barer started walking too fast the flower girl put her arm out to stop him, then they continued along. The Father's speech was a little questionable and it wasn't really related to marriage. It was mostly about how electronics have taken over and how people should take time away from them or something. Meh, I like my gadgets.

The reception was really nice. I was amused by the wedding memento. Everyone got a poem in a frame and mine said: "I promise you as a lover and a friend; I will love you like I never love again; With everything I am". How sweet of Justin to give me a love poem! Too bad he is married now, otherwise how could I resist?? hehe

I didn't have alot to eat during the day since I was told there was going to be an 11 course meal for dinner. My drink for the night was white wine since it was easy. It hit me pretty quickly. After one I was feeling it, after two.. you could say I was kinda drunk. I think around this time the first or second course was being served... oops. I've been told the multiple Advil I had earlier in the day wouldn't have helped either. I didn't end up eating too much since there was alot of seafood and by the end of the meal I was too drunk to even bother eating. People seemed to be amused that I was the first one drunk. Chris probably wish he wasn't sitting beside me. I know I annoyed him when I kept trying to put heart confetti into his hair.

The night consisted of trying to walk straight, seeing double, and having fun. I managed to catch the bouquet! It came flying at me and landed in my arms. No moving necessary. The flowers are beautiful. That made me happy, and no, I haven't suddenly decided to get married anytime soon! My mom and dad were both freaked out when I told them I caught the bouquet. Apparently they believe in the meaning more than I do.

After catching the bouquet, I was waiting until the lucky guy got to put the garter on my leg. I remember past weddings not wanting to catch the bouquet solely for avoiding this, but drunken jen was amused by this idea. I waited, but it never happened! I guess they didn't know of that tradition. No worries, later that night I enforced it! And of course I made him use his teeth. That's how it's supposed to be done. Apparently I agreed that Greg could take it off later that night, but I don't remember that part! I ended up going to sleep with it on cause it amused me. How silly of me!

We were sent home with ALOT of cookies and cake. That's what we had for breakfast on Sunday. Mmmm cake and cookies. Well, I guess it was more lunchtime by the time I wasn't dizzy any longer and was out of bed. We played some cards, watched baseball and nascar, and I napped later. Very enjoyable weekend.

The Last of my Vacation

After convocation, I went to my grandma's with my dad for a visit. We played golf every day, watched the italy game, went tv shopping, had lots of yummy food and saw some family. We had a great time. I only wish the visit could have been longer. Now that I'm back in Toronto I'll get to see my dad more often which will be nice. The golfing was lots of fun. We played a 9 hole golf course with all par 3's. I had one par each day, and near the end I was getting alot more consistent with alot less re-do's. I want to get a couple golf clubs so I can practice in the golf simulator in the superclub.

Keizo and I went to Detroit for the Astros' series. Comerica Park was awesome. I loved the real field and the open area. They had alot of fun baseball displays, a carousal with tigers, cup holders for every seat, and daiquiris. It was great. Too bad the astros got swept, but we made it on tv!! Keizo almost caught a foul ball that came straight at us. Unfortunately he was scoring the game so he didn't have his glove on, so the ball bounced off his hand. Ouch.

Now I'm settling into my apartment, waiting for my dad to bring my 32'' lcd flat panel tv. No apartment is complete without a tv. So far I'm loving the new place. I love looking out at the water and all the boats. I can see and hear the fireworks from Ontario Place which is really fun. Not only do I have a kitchen facet that actually works, it's a really nice facet. It becomes a hose and sprays. There's also a dishsoap dispenser to hide the bottle. I love the granite countertops. Very easy to clean. The appliances are great. I love that you can tell the fan to go on for so many minutes. The gas stove still scares me a little but I'll get used to it. My walk in closet is a beautiful thing, and having my own washroom rocks. The toilet paper holder is ingenious. The one end is open so you can just slide it off, but has a little edge so it doesn't fall off. I'll post pictures once the living room is finished.

Opening Day

I'm still mad at the Jay's for trading away O-Dog. I'm also still mad at sports in general because they kept betraying me. In spite of all this, I'm going to the Jay's opening day and I'm so excited about it!!! Keizo bought 20 tickets near the bullpen in row's 8 and 9 or something. Best we could find for 20 people. Not sure who all is going yet but it'll be fun.

Keizo took out his braids. This time we took a picture before he did so though. Now it's back to being long and out of control!

Football is poo!

This weekend started off well. We went to Fox and Fiddle on Friday night to celebrate Kirsten's birthday. There was a live band at times and they sounded pretty good. I liked that it wasn't too loud so you can still talk. It was fun.

Saturday and Sunday was alot of football. Saturday night Keizo's Tom Brady/Pats lost, then Sunday my beautiful colts lost, and then later i watched my brother's bears lose. *tear* oh who am I kidding? *sobs* So now I have no desire to watch anymore football this season. Maybe I'll still watch the superbowl because I was looking forward to it. Bleah.

Maybe I'm not meant to like sports. I start liking baseball and my O-Dog gets traded. I start liking football, and my colts go 14-2 only to lose in their first playoff game. Hmmm, Tony did win the 2005 nextel cup though. Maybe 2005 was my year for sports and it's time for a break?

Oh, it's official. I got a 9 on Exam C. Fun Stuff.

Yippee!

It's official! I've accepted an offer and I'm going to work at Swiss Re!! I'm so happy. I really loved working there on my co-op terms. I just got lucky they had an opening. *happiness*

Now I have to find a place in Toronto. Eep! I'm thinking I might see if I can stay at my dad's for a while to make apartment hunting alot easier, but his place is far and crowded so I'm not sure. I'll bring up the idea and see what he says.

I can't wait to go shopping!!! It's business attire there so I get to dress up. I love it. So much more fun that way. I can't wait to have an amazing, fun, stylish wardrobe. Ohh and the shoes! And one day a prada bag =)

To celebrate accepting an offer I bought Wicked tickets! Well, okay, I bought them a little earlier, but it was to celebrate having a full-time job =) I think they'll be pretty good seats. Row F, seats 17 and 18 (if anybody cares, i do!! hehe)

I haven't posted in sooo long... i've been bad. Done lots of great stuff. Wing nights have been lots of fun. I'm looking forward to them next summer!!

Wow, I didn't even update about my fun visit with Holly! We went on a used bookstore hunt and did some Christmas shopping. We went to Spring Rolls, Pickle Barrel and Allen's! We watched Crash and Coupling. Ohh so great. AND there was Prius at the end of Crash! But now I can't buy one. Too expensive and pointless for Toronto. We had alot of fun. Next time she comes to visit in Toronto I'll have a great stylish apartment which will be even better.

I went to visit Keizo the other weekend. We did some Christmas Shopping and relaxed. It was really nice just being able to spend some time with him. We've both been too busy this term. I'm looking forward to January!

So Wednesday Night I went to a Marlies game with Liz!!! It was great. Great seats, the place is pretty small so anywhere is pretty good. They won 5-0 which was cool! We picked who our favourite players were and stuff. We BOTH forgot cameras though! Bah!

Last night was our Chrismukkah party!! Matt and I went to Chris and Jeff's to watch OC IN HIGH DEF! So awesome. We also watched CSI afterwards which was so cool in HD as well. We had hawaiian pizza. I can't enough of it lately. Also had some drinks, but not too much cause Matt's Christmas Party was the night before which had an open bar... enough said haha. I took pictures of turkey (the bunny) while I was there. He's so cute!

I don't know what I'm forgetting. I really shouldn't go this long without posting. Tonight my dad is picking me up and I'm going to his place for the weekend. My brother is flying in tonight so it'll be great to see him. I've missed the arrogant bugger.

We like Butterfield

Tuesday night Keizo and I went to the jays game with his friend Will. It was fun. They played well which is always a bonus. Butterfield tossed Keizo a ball!! And he gave it to me, so now I have a ball too =) It was off of Corey Koskie's bat. Keizo bought a Gabe Gross bat on the way out. He also burned this punk kid which was funny.

Work starts so soon!! I'm getting pretty nervous. At least I know what to do first day though. Oh, and I finally got my offer letter, although just in pdf form. I was getting a little worried since she kept saying i'd get it in a couple days and I never got it. I doubted there was anything to worry about though. Why else would they buy me a study manual if they weren't going to hire me? hehe. I discovered I got a raise for passing M which is fun. Studying for C has been going alright so far. I'd rather be watching The O.C. though. I bought Season 2 and have watched the first 2 discs but that's it.

Not much else is up. Been going for lunch with Keizo at the plaza. Went to morty's and McGinnis. Soooo much eating out!! But this weekend I have my dad to make me food =) Yay! I like my dad's cooking.

Tapa-tapa-tapa

Saturday I was supposed to study for a midterm, but I didn't feel like it so I convinced Keizo we should go mini golfing instead. We went to the mall first, then went to Sports World. I had lots of fun. It was funny, because while we were playing this kid caught up to us and he was playing alone. We ended up letting him play with us. I guess his brother shot his ball into the water and didn't want to go get a new ball so deserted him. He was a pretty good kid. He just had fun, didn't care if he missed or anything. I was impressed. Afterwards we went to Outback and I got a yummy girly drink and steak. Then we went to futureshop and I bought Gilmore girls. I had to get a new copy cause a couple of were badly scratched. It's such a great show. I'm so addicted. It's a different great than Scrubs is though.

Today it decided to pour really hard right when we had to walk to class. Sitting in jeans soaked up to my hips for 3 hours was not fun. But I'm in dry comfy pjays now so I'm happy.

NTN

Tonight was refreshing. I've had a busy few days with school since I got behind studying for Exam M. I wrote a quiz today and it turned out to be easier than I expected so I was happy. I enjoyed my fresh food for supper, i love having food. I had no food left so I was so glad to go grocery shopping yesterday. Keizo brought up my CDs last night to rip some of them. People keep commenting on how random some of them are. So I played some French Rap for Matt and Ryan tonight. Quite amusing. It's really not very good *lol*

Graphics projects are fun! I'm glad I don't have to write one... but getting to see people's puppets is cool though hehe.

So Exam M is finished which means I can concentrate on school and interviews for a while. I can finally wear my new suit!!! horray!

Holly is the best. She sent me postcards and pasta and a scarf from Italy!! And chocolate from Germany and Switzerland. The chocolat is LONG gone and it was yummy. I plan on making my pasta last longer than the chocolate hehe. Thanks again Holly!!!!!

So the weekend after Exam M i got to see my O-Dog!!! The highlights of the game were O-Dog making a triple, and when they showed his ass on the big screen *lol* I was too shy to yell his name when he was walking by us before the game started in hopes of getting one of those beautiful smiles directed at me. Maybe next time... *wishful thought* hehe

I love Gimore girls. My mother, the Howard Roark of Stars Hollow. Yay for Ayn Rand references!

8008 to go!

I just need 8008 shoppers optimum points to reach the next reward level and I get 75 dollars of free stuff!!! I'm so excited.

While I was in Shoppers I bought Praline filled chocolate eggs. They are incredible. They remind me of Easter in France. My French Mom bought everyone a hollow easter character filled with chocolates inside. Mine had Praline filled chocolate eggs in it. I must buy more. Lots more.

I watched Mr. 3000 last night. It was pretty amusing. I felt all proud to understand what they were talking about when they mentioned the national league hehe.
